Visualisation Matters 2021

UNSW EPICentre are excited to be hosting Visualisation Matters 2021: an interdisciplinary conference and hackathon designed to inspire audiences and demonstrate how art, science, design, and engineering can be connected through visual creativity.

VisMatters21 will be taking place online on the 3rd of September, with speakers from across data science, education, creative writing, medicine and more presenting their work in 10 minute, TEDx-style talks. The conference will also include keynote speakers, a postgraduate project showcase, and artwork presentation session.

In addition to the conference, we have collaborated with Woollahra Council, and invite you to participate in an Artwork-Hackathon as part of the Double Vision Public Art Project. The event will be held online from in September.

Extrasensory Perception

15 March 2019, 6-8pm, EPICentre, UNSW Art & Design, Crn Oxford St and Greens Rd, Paddington

EXTRASENSORY PERCEPTION is an art installation that celebrate creative coding. It manifests self-expression and freedom of creativity, that can be described by a mathematical equation transparent to the spectators, with ~120 million moving pixels. Visitors experience #demoscene like visuals, including 8-bit inspired graphics.

Selections directed by Tomasz Bednarz and Conan Bourke – 100% inspired by #demoscene, #shadertoy. Modified to run using our High-End Visualisation System (HEVS) software across 56x screens, in almost ~120 million moving pixels.

Vis Matters 2017 this year is co-organised by the Expanded Perception and Interaction Centre, UNSW (EPICentre), CSIRO Data61, Sydney Khronos Chapter, Brisbane SIGGRAPH Chapter and ACEMS.
